How to Prepare for Your Spa Soak During Cold Weather

Even though the chill of fall is in the air and frost is on your windshield every morning, that doesn’t mean that a soak in your spa is off the table! How can you prepare yourself for a soak in the hot tub during cold weather (and not freeze in the process)?

Stay Warm with Drinks

Just like if you were going outside to sit and stargaze, make some hot cocoa or decaf coffee to help warm you up. Cold drinks are a shock to your system when the air is cold and the spa is warm, so rely on warm cold weather drinks to keep you in the mood to soak. Make sure to always use plastic cups when drinking in or near your tub so that they don’t break if you drop them.

Stay Warm on the Way to the Tub

Half of the battle when it comes to convincing yourself to use the spa during cold weather is overcoming the chill in the air. Make sure that you wear slippers and a warm bathrobe over your swimsuit on your way to the spa, even if it’s a short journey. By keeping your feet and body warm on the way to the spa, the few seconds of cold as you disrobe will be much more bearable.

Line Up Some Entertainment

A great way to enjoy your spa soak in cold weather is by making sure you have some entertainment. There are apps you can download to help you stargaze while you are in the tub and pass the time. If you are more of a movie or television lover, bring a tablet or waterproof phone outside to watch your favorite shows in the chill.
