The Basics of Landscaping Around an Inground Pool

landscaping

If you’ve got a dream pool pictured in your head, chances are, it’s something out of a landscaping magazine.

You’ve probably already realized that throwing a pool into your backyard isn’t exactly the look you want to display.  If you’ve got a dream pool pictured in your head, chances are, it’s something out of a landscaping magazine.  Surrounding foliage, integrated backgrounds, and seamless transitions from pool to yard–this is what you’re really looking for.  So, why sell yourself short?  Design the perfect landscape around the perfect pool to make sure your dreams are coming true.

Go For Privacy

A more closed-in atmosphere can make your pool feel relaxed and subdued.  When your pool is in open view of your neighbor’s prying eye, you won’t be entirely comfortable.  A private pool will also help it to blend into the landscape.  Tall, thick trees are smart, as well as beautiful flowers and bushes.

Potted Plants

The best way to bring landscape closer to your pool is through potted plants, or hanging plants.  On either side of your pool entrance, use a potted plant to keep it inviting and interesting.  Don’t make it too noisy, but colors and varying leaves are a great way to add dynamic and movement to your pool.

Water Features

A great way to bring in the landscape is to include water features–this is mostly because water features can be used outside of your pool, too.  A fountain outside of the pool can drain into it, making for a beautiful landscape connection.  Regardless of what you choose, know that these water features are going to do wonders for your landscape inclusion.
