3 Types of Above Ground Pool Liners

Pool Services

A pool deck can help integrate it into your landscape, and you can take fantastic care of the water, but the lining makes all the difference.

Above ground pools provide an interesting challenge; intrinsically, they can be an eyesore when they aren’t installed or designed properly.  A pool deck can help integrate it into your landscape, and you can take fantastic care of the water, but the lining makes all the difference.  You don’t have the choice to use concrete, which is a commonly used all-over aesthetic material.  Instead, you can choose from three of these pool liner options to keep your pool looking great.

  1. J-Hook Liners

Exactly what they sound like–j-hook liners keep your pool lining up using hooks that are placed around the pool’s edge.  They aren’t as cheap as other options, but that’s probably because maintenance is easy.  All you have to do is unhook it and replace the lining.  Though it may sound unstable, j-hook liners are actually very sturdy and will keep your pool safe from leaks.

  1. Overlap Liners

This is the least expensive option when it comes to pool liners.  They’re also the hardest to install, and the hardest to replace.  You won’t find much variety in these liners, but they are great for a budget.  They go over the top wall of the pool and are clamped down by a strip, which runs around the edge.  A good thing about these liners is that they are absolutely water tight.  It’s also important to note that they require frequent maintenance and cleaning in order to not cause issues.

  1. Beaded Liners

These are generally considered to be the most effective liners, because they combine j-hooks with a beaded, more secure system.  Replacing liners in this case is very, very easy.  Simply slide the liner down the beaded track, and remove it.  Such ease should be coveted; they’re also easy to find and come in a wide variety of designs.
